How hard is it to install the MacLock?
There are two ways to install the MacLock. Professionals using the MacLock Pro-Tools can have a complete install in about 45 minutes.
Do I have to remove my door or frame to install the MacLock 1500?
No, the installation is accomplished with the door and frame left in place using either the install tools included in the MacLock Contractor Kit and MacLock Pro-Tools
How long does it take to install?
The Contractor version of the MacLock installs in about 45 minutes with the MacLock Pro-Tools

What tools do I need?

The MacLock Contractor Kit can be installed with Maclock Pro-Tools (Pro-Tools are sold seperately)
Will it fit on my door?
The MacLock 1500 will fit on most residential exterior 1 3/4 inch thick wood doors and most residential exterior 1 3/4 inch thick, steel clad doors with a wood edge (and a wood door jamb).
I already have a dead bolt on my door, can I install a MacLock?
Yes, if your existing dead bolt hole is at least 34 inches down from the top of your door and has a 2 1/8 inch wide hole, which is back set 2 3/8 inches from the edge of the door.
I have more than one dead bolt on my door, does that matter?
No, but the second dead bolt must be removed if it is located where the MacLock will be installed. A brass cover plate can be purchased to cover the remaining hole after the installation is complete.
I have a window in my door, can I buy a MacLock in a double key version?
Yes, the MacLock can be purchased in a double key version for door with windows or sidelights; or, in the standard single keyed version.
My door has been kicked in and my door jamb is broken, will that effect the MacLock?
The strike plate must be mounted on a jamb that is in good shape.
